JESUS--THE GREATEST PHYSICIAN
(Luke 8:40-56, Psalm 103:1-5)
Let us pray…
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for the opportunity to once again gather together in your name to seek your face. Almighty God, please let the words of my mouth be your words and give us all ears to hear that we may be exceedingly blessed to the glory and honor of your son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Good morning saints of God! What a great day to be alive—alive in Christ!!
Luke 8:40-56
But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
And Jesus said, "Who touched Me?"
When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the multitudes
throng and press You, and You say, "Who touched Me?"'
But Jesus said, "Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from
Me." Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and
falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people
the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
And He said to her, "Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well.
Go in peace."
While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher." But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, "Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well." When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, "Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping." And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, "Little girl, arise." Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.
Psalm 103:1-5
WOW! What hope we now have knowing that our Lord Jesus can heal all diseases--and He is the Only One who can heal the incurable diseases...even raise the dead! Hallelujah!
Maybe you are someone (or you know someone) who has AIDS, or has terminal cancer, or is a quadriplegic, or has an incurable "issue of blood." Well, I say to you--Call upon the Lord Jesus' Most Powerful Name now!! Simply cry out: DR. JESUS HELP ME! DR. JESUS HELP MY FRIEND!!
There are many examples in the Word of people who pressed in to Jesus and received healing. Be one of those who presses in! What Jesus did then, he can do now! There is no limit to what the Lord can do. Faith is the key that moves God. "Let it be to you according to your faith," says the Lord in the Gospel. To the woman with the issue of blood, he said, "Your faith has made you well."
Note that the man whose daughter was healed "fell down at Jesus' feet and begged Him" to heal his daughter. He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." Matthew 15:42. The Syro-Phoenician woman pressed in by saying, "Even the little dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their Master's table" and Jesus marveled at her faith and healed her daughter. The four men with a crippled friend lowered him in a basket through a hole in the roof to get to Jesus. The centurion trusted that Jesus could heal his servant without even coming to his house to see him. Matthew 8:10 -- When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
For the person who presses in with persistence to the Lord Jesus, all things are possible. In Psalm 103:3 it states that the Lord heals "ALL your diseases." ALL is ALL. There is nothing too hard for the Lord who even raises the dead back to life. The woman with the issue of blood spent all her money on worldly physicians over a period of 12 years and they could do nothing to help her or cure her. Only our great physician, Jesus, could heal this woman.
Press into the Lord in prayer with fervency and faith. Remember Luke 11:9-10 -- "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
Seek the Lord every day! Honor Him with praise and worship because He is eminently worthy! Give Him thanks for all the blessings He has already bestowed upon you and for meeting all of your needs. If you esteem the Lord highly, He says He will esteem you highly! Bless the Lord, O My Soul!! Forget not his benefits!!
Press in dear soul--press in to know Jesus!!--and no matter how things look by sight, remember that we are to walk by faith, not by sight. Nothing is too hard for the Lord God Almighty. Amen!
Then the Word of the LORD came to Jeremiah saying: "Behold I AM the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:23-27).
And Jesus looked at them and said: "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!" Amen (So be it!) (Matthew 19:26).
Let us pray…
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your son Jesus, who went all the way to die on the cross for our sins that we might receive a pardon and inherit eternal life.
Lord God, we simply proclaim your goodness today and we offer you our trust, simple trust. In the midst of our sickness and disease, we trust you. In the midst of our being blind, or deaf, or crippled, we trust you. In the midst of our fear, or depression, or sorrow, or loss, or imprisonment, we simply trust you…
Lord, even if you let us die in the midst of our fiery trial or tribulation, we truly trust that you will raise us up into everlasting glory in paradise. Lord, we absolutely trust you with our life, and trust that, by your amazing grace in Christ Jesus, our story will have a happy and glorious ending. So here is what we offer you today, Heavenly Father, our hearts filled with absolute unconditional trust in your infinite grace and goodness in and through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
